Stewart Rydman has reported the following
problem fitting an ARD Race body kit to his 2000 CBR992RR Fireblade.
When the fitting the lower fairing, which
contains the regulation oil catch tank on ARD
Race fairings, there was insufficient clearance around the exhaust
valve hardware. In order to make an acceptable fit, Stewart needed
to cut a hole in the lower left panel. This obviously results
in loss of the oil catch tank facility, which is not acceptable
on a race bike.
We have sold and fitted many of these fairings
in the U.K. without this problem, so we assume it is caused by
differences between U.K. and U.S.A. spec machines. As we are obviously
concerned about it, we are working with Stewart to find the exact
cause of the problem. We will then make any necessary mods to
our moulds.
It is anticipated that all future Fireblade
race kits will incorporate any necessary mods.

We now have the answer to this problem....
It turns out that Stuart had used a non-standard
exhaust mounting bracket.
Fireblade owners will be aware that there is very little clearance
between the exhaust system and the fairing. Stuart's bracket caused
the exhaust to be moved very slightly outward from the standard
position. This caused his problems.
